Why your kitty must eat canned cat food?

It is not uncommon for cats to beg and plead and circle around your legs for the food they see you eating. But, giving your kitty any table scraps or a bite off your plate can be a dangerous practice and must not be encouraged for several reasons.

First off, cats need their quota of nutrients that are found in canned cat food, and any extra tid bits they feed off your hand will take away their appetite toward their regular meal.

Human Foods Aren’t Meant for Cats – Canned Cat Food Is!

The main reason vets discourage you from feeding cats human food is that there are plenty of things we eat that can be toxic to a cat.

While your food may be tasty and harmless to you, a small nibble of it can turn life threatening to your pet. If you own a cat or a kitten, it is very important to know and understand what every day food can be deadly for your pet.

Chocolates: Cats love to feed on anything you eat, and will gladly turn their head away from canned cat food, hoping for a treat. Most people know that chocolate is dangerous for dogs, but did you know that it can be toxic for cats too?

Chocolates contain Theobromine that can lead to chocolate toxicity in your furry friend. This chemical is found in very high concentrations in unsweetened as well as dark chocolate varieties.

Grapes and Raisins: These foods can cause adverse reactions in dogs and cats. According to the Animal Poison Control Center no pet owner must feed their cats or dogs grapes or raisins in any amount. It is best you keep these fruits away from your four-legged buddies.

Avocados: These small and tasty fruits have many health benefits, but these are limited to human beings. When it comes to cats, it can cause an immediate allergic reaction. The seed, leaves, fruit, and the tree of an Avocado plant if ingested can cause diarrhea and vomiting in your feline pets.

So, stow away your bowl of guacamole after you have eaten, to make sure your cat doesn’t feast on the rest of it. Trust us when we say, they are better off eating canned cat food than sharing your bowl of green delight.

There are a number of other human foods that may not be toxic to your cat, but is yet best avoided. Alcohol, caffeinated beverages, raw eggs, and so on may have adverse effects on your pet. If your cat is lactose intolerant, do not feed it milk.

Most canned cat food have all the nutrition needed by your cat and are a healthier alternative to human food.
